With its modern retro design, ingenuity and quality the "A"-series is a breath of fresh air amongst children’s furniture. Behind the collection are furniture designers Matilda Lindblom and Sanna Lindström.

The "A"-series makes you happy. The contemporary design is perhaps the first thing you think of. However, soon you notice the great things that makes this furniture for children an adult favorite. As such the nursery box that becomes a toy box, and thereafter a storage box. Or the bed; flexible to suit the needs of the child from birth until it is time for an adult bed. And then can be made into a nice couch.

You can decide how the bed should look like by selecting the color, remove and add sidings and backs, all based on changing needs as your child grows. Bed sides protect the small from falling to the floor during sleep. The contemporary design is designed for (just like the function) to last for many years. A bed for the baby to grow in. And we must not forget his friends on the floor – the practical storage boxes with rabbit ears on the lids. Or the chest of drawers with it’s “shirt-button-handles” designed so that even the smallest can open it.

One thing is certain. "A"-series makes it easy to be a child. "A"-series is made of varnished birch / MDF and is available white and yellow as standard, but can be ordered in all colors. You decide!

HEIRLOOM Retro Series

“The furniture I value the most is that I have inherited. I wanted the feeling to be similar with the Retro series, that it would become more beautiful over the years and take a natural place in the home. I wanted it to be connected to many happy memories and be inherited from one generation to the next.

The shapes are inspired by the fifties and sixties and the intention is that the furniture with its simple design language should be easy to place wherever you want in your home. It all began with a rocking chair and quickly developed into a whole series with rocking chair, rocking sofa, armchair, sofa, sideboard and desk.

It was important that the furniture was safe for children to use, so the series has been tested and approved by SP, the Technical Research Institute of Sweden, for strength and stability for seating furniture in the home environment. The furniture has naturally also been designed so that children cannot hurt themselves. We have used natural materials throughout such as Hessian, horsehair, cotton stuffing and naturally tanned leather. Just like in the old days!”

ESTELLE & THILD

When her first daughter was born, Pernilla Rönnberg was disappointed to discover that she simply couldn’t find gentle, organic hair and skin products for children. But the search inspired her to create her own line of ecological lotions, soaps and shampoos, leading to the founding of Estelle & Thild in 2007. ENFANT TERRIBLE – SLEEPYHEAD

The Sleepyhead baby bed is a multifunctional baby bed in one piece. This unique portable infant bed and tummy time aid harbouring our precious ones, is the result of an idea Lisa Furuland had when her first son was born in 2006. ’I searched unsuccessfully for an alternative to the blanket, the cot and the baby lounger, something more snug and at the same time more versatile.’

A baby kept close and safe and comfortable is only a breath away from his parent’s voice, the familiar sound he has grown to associate with feeling good. In addition, it gives the baby a delightful advantage, since it can maintain proximity to and make visual contact with his attachment figure. It is equally great for sleeping, resting and waking, as it can be used as a play pod as well as a tummy time aid. Supervised tummy time is essential from day one. The benefits of tummy time are many and crucial: the baby’s development of motor control and planning, sensory integration, environmental awareness, and postural strength.

The Sleepyhead is also perfect when co-sleeping. Co-sleeping is said to promote higher self-esteem, confidence, sensitivity and fosters an environment of acceptance. The firm Sleepyhead mattress reduces risk of suffocation due to soft adult mattress. Placement at adult head level reduces the risk of overheating from adult bedding and pillows and body heat. The protective sides also prevent the parents from rolling on top of the baby. If not co-sleeping or for transition into the crib, the Sleepyhead can also be used as a crib or cot insert, creating a cosy and familiar environment.

Hence, it is most suitable to use as a travel bed, too. With the buckle at the bottom, one can easily open the bed and use it as a changing station. Using the Sleepyhead also reduces the risk of plagiom also known as flattened head syndrome, as the mattress is soft, yet with a great bearing capacity, to relieve pressure on the head. In addition, the surrounding bumpers give great support and can function as a side-sleep positioning prop, too, enabling you to alternate the baby’s sleeping/resting position, from back to either side.

A lot of research has been put into choosing the optimal materials for your baby. All filling materials are sourced from the world- leading supplier of materials with anti-dust mite, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. All fibre compositions are designed to create an optimal micro climate. A waterproof, yet breathable mattress cover protects the mattress from absorbing liquids.

The SLEEPYHEAD® is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, which means that all materials are tested for and free from harmful substances. The SLEEPYHEAD® is machine washable. The mattress wadding plate should be hand washed.

SIMPLEWORLD – DRIVE

SIMPLEWORLD Buggy Bag® is a registered design for its simple, but ingenious design.

The idea for this solution came when my children began to grow and had boots on their feet. I quickly realized it wasn’t nice to sit, their boots on, in a narrow cramped foot-muff. The inside became quite dirty and it was quite difficult to get them out with their muddy boots. Often the boots would get stuck when I lifted my child up, having to awkwardly carry her while trying to release her and the boots. I had enough!

So I came up with the SIMPLEWORLD Buggy Bag®, a design that is meant to grow with your child. It opens up at the bottom so that muddy boots can be on the outside. It has holes for seat belts and fits in all buggies. It is water resistant and filled with Thermolite Extra from Dupont and lined with fleece. The front can completely or partially be removed by means of a zipper so the buggy bag can be used all year round as a soft and comfortable seating mat. And finally when you are not using it, roll it up just like a sleeping bag! Easy and convenient, just what parents need.

SIMPLEWORLD - DINE

As an industrial designer it’s not easy to buy things without thinking “this can be done better”. When Johan Larsvall had his own children the choice was between buying an existing high chair or to make one with his own design. An easy choice.

The first thing he decided was to make a high chair that is light and smooth, which can be variable in height, and which has a very soft, still strong floor stand to avoid hurting your toes. And of course has to be attractive, blending into the home environment.

The result? A strong wood solution. Easy to set the height to accommodate siblings, visiting children, or just your growing child. A floor stand which is stable, yet minimal enough to avoid unwanted contact (especially barefoot). The chair reduces to a flat form, useful when visiting friends or going to the country. After years of testing on his own children, Johan felt that the design concept was right.

The high chair has been developed to meet EU requirements on safety and will be a welcome addition to a classic and stylized room. SIMPLEWORLD Dine® appeals to both children and parents demand for function, simplicity and aesthetics.

Babies are busy little bees. Especially for them Bombol has created the innovative Bamboo baby rocker with its patented Dynamic Backrest (DBR). This technology enables Bamboo to sense the baby’s needs – sleeping, sitting, or playing – and helps the baby to choose their position by adjusting their weight. This design does not impose a position but allows the baby to change his or her own position regularly which is essential for a healthy development.

They are launching two collections per year using eco- friendly fabrics. Rickfors & Rickfors is their clothing line and the designs are useful in several ways, i.e. a practical piece as well as it is elegant and comfortable.

Rickfors & Rickfors began by presenting a practical and comfortable pajama for little children from 0 – 2,5 years. The name is BambooJamas and it has received a patent for its unique design.

BAMBOOJAMAS is pajama made of 100% organic fabric. We chose natural bamboo fibers mixed with organic cotton in consideration of the environment, it’s high quality and for the baby’s soft skin. The collar is made of 100% organic cotton velour. The eco-friendly zipper is made of recycled material. What is special about the design is that the zipper is turned up-side down and enables easy diaper changing while the child’s upper body remains covered. Besides, it’s much easier to close a zipper under the chin of a kicking baby!

Behind the zipper is a soft placket to protect the body. Size and care instructions are printed in the fabric to avoid itchy labels. The foot piece has a double layer of fabric and can be slipped off the foot to fold back behind the ankle.

JOSSES BARNMAT, MELLISBOK & BARN OMBORD – BOOKS

It all started with my project on maternity leave - Anna and Hugo Barnmatsbok. My passion for children and food took over. As a trained lawyer with a focus on environmental law, I have never worked, instead I wanted to learn to write and after one year of journalism education I began writing newspaper articles. During this time I also participated in the lauch of the Internet portal barnfamiljen.com, was working as a editorial assistant at the magazine Våra Barn, prepared baby food in one season TV program Babyboom with Emma Wiklund, and have been working as a freelance for different magazines such as Gourmet, Glamour, Buffet and others. And I’m working as home economics/food teacher at Alpha School.

Over the years, it has come to be five books all in all. It started with Anna & Barnmatsbok Hugo (1999), a book that gives parents the courage abandon baby food in a jar as the only diet. The book was a success and resulted in that I held courses about baby food around the country for ten years. This was followed by Flytta Hemifrån Boken (2004), Time Publishing. I got the idea for the book from our daughter Emily’s summer neighbour on Gotland, which was in the process of moving from home and had not really grabbed what that meant.

A few years later asked my friend Andrea Sundstrand who was working with baby swim asked me if I wanted to help her with a book about children and food on the boat and it resulted in Barn Ombord (2009). Josses Barnmatsbok was released in February 2010 and is a guide for parents in how to cook in their own good and healthy baby food. It is a developed version of Anna’s and Hugo’s Barnmatsbok where experience and issues from a decade of courses been added.

And now my fifth book has just come out and called Josses Mellisbok. It is a cookbook for children with clear step- by-step instructions and simple recipes and good snacks for the kids when they get home after school and need to fill in with little energy before doing homework, training and all what these little creatures do.
